Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the long-term effect of high doses of vitamin E (dl-a-tocopheryl acetate) per kilogram on various hematological, biochemical and histological parameters of the rat. Hematological parameter showed some significant change in platelet and leucocyte count. In biochemical study, there is no significant change in urea and creatinine but liver function ALT and AST showed significant change with high doses. Histological examination of rat kidney, liver and testes, which received of vitamin E for long time and high doses showed mild abnormal histological change. |
