Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is studying the attenuation of the photons through various
samples, normally as photons traverse through a material it gets attenuated, and the degree
of attenuation varies from a material to another hence rises a physical properties of a
material which is the attenuation coecient, hereby we use gamma-ray detectors to nd
the attenuation coecient of various samples and check the liability of using NaI doped
with Thallium scintillation detector to be used for such purpose.
