Abstract

In the last decade, the Internet has gained a great attention as a back-bone for almost all commercial and personal communications based on the current network infrastructures. Predicting the network behavior under the current situation of mixed traffic that comes from different applications seems very difficult and gets complicated day after day. Unfortunately, the rapid developments in communication technologies have reduced the capability to measure, analyze, and evaluate of the Internet traffic, applications and protocols.
Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) is predicted to be the key technology winner in the future. Efforts to accelerate the deployment of IPTV ce-n¬tr¬al¬ize model.
IPTV services require very stringent QoS guarantees when IPTV traf-fic shares the network resources with other traffic like data and voice, how to ensure their QoS and efficiently utilize network resources is a key and challenging issue.
IPTV is now offered by several operators in Europe, US and Asia us-ing broad¬cast video over private IP networks that are isolated from in-te¬r¬net. IPTV ser¬vices rely on transmission of live (real-time) video an-d/or stored video.
Quality of Service (QoS) has become major criteria for performing of IPTV services. Increasing QoS is seen today as one of the most impor-tant means for in¬creasing subscribers, loyalty and securing successful service growth.
This thesis describes in details the IPTV system. Furthermore, meas-urement methods of the QoS parameters are analyzed, discussing a practical application for evaluation of IPTV traffic parameters. The following essential QoS parameters like IP Packet Transfer Delay (IPTD), IP Packet Delay Variation (IPDV) and packet loss Ratio (IPLR), also des¬cr¬i¬bes analysis of Queuing systems.
ANYLOGIC Professional6 software was used to analysis the queuing simulation to obtain a sample performance result of a multiple server process as well as for multiple queue models.
