Abstract
Abstract
Sustainable development and iconic buildings have a close relationship
but it doesn’t clear to all. Sustainable development is a necessary thing
for our lives; it consists of Social sustainability, Environmental
Sustainability, and Economic Sustainability. Our lives will be different
and change into a better one as well as we take care of Sustainability. On
another side, in our societies, there are iconic buildings which affect the
society and the people using them. Some buildings have a positive effect
on the people and some do not.
The research started with what are iconic buildings, its effect on the

society and the public users explaining how the Iconic Architecture
makes a picture of the urban areas in a way that makes it particular and
identifiable by people. After that, I represent the importance of the iconic
buildings explaining that it helps to attract monetary capital, to effect
jobs or develop the partial economy The iconic buildings consider as a
tool for marketing of the city and helping them to rapid growth.
In recent years, ”Sustainability ”expression has been misunderstood, a lot
of people thinks that it means ”Green architecture” or ”Environmental
architecture” which is wrong. So the research goes through sustainable
development explaining what are sustainable development and its history
and its models Social Sustainability, Environmental Sustainability, and
Economic Sustainability. Concluded the criteria needed for the analysis
of the iconic buildings in each field of Sustainable development.
This research directed to conclude the criteria needed to analyze the
chosen iconic buildings and find the impact of sustainable development
on them. To see how sustainability affects these buildings from all sides
of the building formation.
