Abstract Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer and the leading cause of cancer deaths in women in both developed and developing countries worldwide. The etiology of breast cancer involves the interaction between environmental factors and inherited genetic susceptibility factors .Although several breast cancer susceptibility genes had been identified, it is likely that many genes with modest effects are yet to be found. CYP2J2 metabolizes arachidonic acid to all four cis-EETs and is highly enantio-selective for 14, 15-EET. Various studies demonstrated the important and previously unrecognized roles of CYP2J2 and its EET products in carcinogenesis. CYP2J2 gene expression is elevated in human malignant tumors, such as esophageal, liver, lung, and colorectal cancers. The previous studies that had investigated the relationship between CYP2J2 gene expression and breast cancer showed inconsistent results .So we conducted this descriptive study to investigate the association between CYP2J2 gene expression and breast cancer. |
