Abstract

This study aimed at the following research objectives, testing the direct effect of perceived entrepreneurial leadership on entrepreneurial passion, examining the direct effect of perceived entrepreneurial leadership on innovative behavior, investigating the direct effect of entrepreneurial passion on innovative behavior, and analyzing the indirect effect of perceived entrepreneurial leadership on innovative behavior through entrepreneurial passion. To achieve the research objectives, the research hypotheses were as follows, H1: Perceived entrepreneurial leadership has a significant direct effect on entrepreneurial passion; this hypothesis is divided into the following 2 sub-hypotheses: H1a: Perceived scenario enactment has a significant direct effect on entrepreneurial passion, H1b: Perceived cast enactment has a significant direct effect on entrepreneurial passion, H2: Perceived entrepreneurial leadership has a significant direct impact on innovative behavior; this hypothesis is divided into the following 2 sub-hypotheses: H2a: Perceived scenario enactment has a significant direct impact on innovative behavior, H2b: Perceived cast enactment has a significant direct impact on innovative behavior, H3: Entrepreneurial passion has a significant direct impact on innovative behavior, and H4: Perceived Entrepreneurial leadership has a significant indirect effect on innovative behavior through entrepreneurial passion; this hypothesis is divided into the following 2 sub-hypotheses: H4a: Perceived scenario enactment has a significant indirect effect on innovative behavior through entrepreneurial passion, H4b: Perceived cast enactment has a significant indirect effect on innovative behavior through entrepreneurial passion. The research findings showed that perceived entrepreneurial leadership (perceived scenario enactment and perceived cast enactment) has a significant direct positive impact on entrepreneurial passion. Furthermore, perceived entrepreneurial leadership has a direct and significant impact on innovative behavior (perceived scenario enactment has a direct negative impact on innovative behavior while perceived cast enactment has a direct positive impact on innovative behavior). Additionally, the findings also revealed that entrepreneurial passion directly, significantly, and positively affect innovative behavior. Finally, the results showed that entrepreneurial passion had no mediating effect between perceived scenario enactment and innovative behavior, while entrepreneurial passion had a partial mediating effect between perceived cast enactment and innovative behavior. Based on the foregoing, the researcher made several recommendations, the most important of which are; Managers of pharmaceutical companies should enhance the innovative behavior of their employees, due to the increasing importance of these behaviors in maintaining the competitive position. In addition, communicating with employees and spreading the culture of innovation within organizations and encouraging employees to present new solutions and ideas and adopt the useful ones.
