Abstract The present study was carried out at department of animal production, faculty of agriculture, Tanta University. The experiment work was Incooperation with El-Gemmezah Experimental Station, belonging to Animal Production Research Institute, Agricultural Research Center, Egypt, during the period from November 2014 to April 2015. This study was divided to three experiments as following: The first experiment: Assessment of the cryoprotective effect of Catalase (CAT) on freezability of buffalo semen. After semen evaluation, the pooled fresh semen was split into four equal fractions, one fraction was diluted with the Tries basic extender containing 15% hen egg yolk (control) and others were supplemented with catalase (500 and 1000 lU) The second experiment: Assessment of the cryoprotective effect of ascorbic acid (AA) on freezability of buffalo semen. The objective of this experiment was to determine whether ascorbic acid (AA) had a cryoprotective effect during cryopreservation of buffalo semen. ascorbic acid (AA) was added to Tris basic extender (control) at the concentrations of 0.5, and 1.0 g/l). The third experiment: Assessment of the cryoprotective effect of vitamin E (V E) on freezability of buffalo semen. The objective of this experiment was to determine whether vitamin E (V E) had a cryoprotective effect during cryopreservation of buffalo semen. Vitamin E (V E was added to Tris basic extender (control) at the concentrations of 0.5, and 1.0 g/l). |
