Abstract he First Chapter: Introduction This chapter introduced a scientific literature survey on wound dressing material and their types especially aerogel, the polymers that used for aerogel preparation such as carrageenan and cellulose nanocrystal. Additionally, the significant properties of wound dressing materials and their biological application as well as the silver nanoparticles as antimicrobial agent have been involved. The Second Chapter: Experimental This part describes the preparation of Carboxymethyl cellulose nanocrystal (CM-CNC) with three different degree of substitutions via a two-step reaction. First, CNC was treated with alkali (ex. NaOH) in the presence of isopropanol. Such treatment facilitate the swelling and penetration of alkali into the CNC structure. In the second step, CM-CNC was formed by reacting three different concentrations of monochloroacetic acid (0.9 ml,1.8 ml and 3.6 ml) and alkali-treated CNC under heating. It describes synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in its solid state via reductant and stabilizing agent that mediated by using CM-CNC Sample that prepared using 0.9 ml Chloroacetic acid as it was found to be completely soluble in water so that selected for AgNPs preparation. |
