Abstract

Aim:emergency management of traumatic dental injuries in Permanent Anterior teeth.
interns 242intern from Cairo University and 258Study sample included : Methodsfrom MSA University, The questionnaires were collected over an 8 month period starting from July 2018 up till February 2019.A four-part questionnaire was 8 questions Part 1 consisted ofdistributed among a total of 500 intern dentists. ended -consisted of 3 closefocusing on personal and professional information, part 2 questions (multiple choice) and the 4th question was a case which included 9 close-ended questions to -consisted of 9 close , Part 3ended questions related to the caseassess the attitude of intern dentists, and part 4 consisted of 4 close-ended questions related to assessment of practice of intern dentists regarding traumatic dental injuries in permanent anterior teeth in children.
Results: Regarding the 1stpart of the survey, these information didn’t have an impact on adequacy of Knowledge, Attitude and Practice (KAP) of intern dentists. Part 2 in the survey “Assessment of knowledge” showed that the intern’s knowledge was considered adequate. Knowledge and practice regarding splint types used for avulsed permanent teeth in addition to prescription of antibiotic therapy was considered inadequate. High positive “attitude” of intern dentists towards early intervention in management of traumatic dental injuries was recorded. As regards to “Practice”, Attempts for managing emergency cases of TDI’s regarding permanent dentition was considered inadequate.
