Abstract

trans unsaturated fatty acids are bad fatty acids because they cause adverse health effect particularly in terms of obesity, blood lipoprotein profiles, coronary heart disease and development of the insulin resistance, and there are no reports are available of any beneficial effect on human well-being. trans fatty acids is also associated with increase in leptin levels. Unpleasant effects on food intake and energy balance were demonstrated in males’ rats suffering from obesity.
Continues feeding of trans fatty acids be an effective tool to study the body’s response to metabolic stress and substantially causing damage the fat cell membrane fluidity besides its role in development of leptin resistance. Additionally, consumption of trans fatty acids presents detrimental effects in glycemic control, lipid disorders and insulin resistance.
The present study was designed to study the bad effects of trans fatty acids from the Partially hydrogenated vegetable oil source on body weight, blood lipid metabolism, glucose hemostasis and leptin levels. Comparing with the effect of beef tallow and linseed oil.
This study was carried out on 60 male albino rats, obtained from the laboratory farm, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Zagazig University, selected with nearly similar range between.
