Abstract

Intellectual capital represents the represents the resources of an organization that have been formalized, captured and leveraged to create assets of a higher value. The concept of intellectual capital emerged from the discussion of goodwill and the difference between book value and current market value of assets. The intellectual capital perspective was initially developed as a framework for analyzing the value contribution intangible assets in an organization. Intellectual capital has got overwhelming response from researches, academicians, entrepreneurs due to its significant contribution to enhance and sustainability of the performance of organisations in a competitive business environment. It is considered as a prime resource for the success and long life of organisations.
