Abstract
Obesity is a leading preventable cause of death worldwide increasing in both adults and children. It is known to be an important factor for many diseases such as osteoarthritis, T2DM, coronary heart disease, HTN, dyslipidemia, psychosocial problems and certain types of cancer Several randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and meta-analyses have demonstrated the superiority of bariatric surgery on weight loss and control of obesity associated morbidities. RYGB has been performed for more than 30 years and is the procedure of choice for severe obesity with metabolic disorders in most of the bariatric surgical centers worldwide.
