Abstract The present thesis comprises three chapters. The first one includes the introduction which summarize the importance of the benzimidazole compound and its derivatives, their biological activity, their chemical activity and their acting as ligand. This chapter also includes a literature review on the benzimidazole derivatives (pantoprazole – lansoprazole – omeprazole) complexes. The second chapter deals with the experimental part, including materials, preparation of different solutions and solid complexes, the instruments used, working procedures, and methods for calculations. The third chapter have three parts, the first part comprises the synthesis and characterization of solid complexes for pantoprazole with (Cr(III), Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Hg(II)) metals in molar ratios M:L = 1:2. The complexes are stable solid and are soluble only in DMF and DMSO. The metal complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivity measurements, magnetic susceptibility, UV spectroscopy, IR, Mass spectra, TGA/DTG analysis. |
