Abstract

Some of problemes of wind turbine is the variation of the wind speed
which leads to disturbance in power generated and high cost. It is desired to
drive model for the wind turbine model which discusses the effect of the
variation of the wind speed on the wind turbine module. It is desired to
drive model for designing an optimum cube for a wind turbine to
maximizing the energy produced from the wind turbine model.
The wind is an infinite energy source, clean and free, but the instability of
the wind speed over the year restrains gaining the rated power from the
wind turbine, “Wind Cubes” may help in this issue. This thesis presents a
novel way for gaining maximum output from wind turbines all over the
year regardless of the wind speed changes by optimizing a design for a
wind cube by using several optimization algorithms such as cuckoo search
optimization algorithm (CSA), grey wolf optimizer (GWO), sine cosine
algorithm (SCA) and moth flame optimizer (MFO). Four turbine types are
simulated in Hurghada city; the Red Sea governorate of Egypt using the
proposed optimization algorithm and a comparison between the wind
turbine outputs with and without the optimized wind cube is performed.
The proposed optimizing the design of Wind Cubes reveals that the
proposed method increases the energy produced from these wind turbines
up to 55 times daily than that without the wind cube.
