Abstract

A study of the effect of the deformation orders β6 & β8 on the fusion barrier parameters for spherical-deformed interacting pair of nuclei, using Double folded model (DFM) and a simple theorem of proximity approach (PROX) for formulation of the interaction potential, from which the fusion barrier parameters will be calculated. Double folded model based on M3Y Raid NN interaction potential with the zero range interaction term, also, the Fermi density used for the heavy ions (HI). The proximity theorem consists of proximity 000DP for calculating the nuclear force interacting part and Densov’s well-established formula for Coulomb force interacting part. We investigated the effect of each deformation order separately, each investigation done by using different values of deformation order for different deformed target nucleus. We reached for the DFM that the effect of adding deformation order β6 or β8 is affected by the value of the other deformation order of the deformed nucleus. PROX present abnormal non-smooth behavior of the effect of the deformation order on the fusion barrier parameters, the abnormalities decreases in the case of deformation order β6 for lower values of the deformation order or the higher value of the mass number of the deformed nucleus.
