Abstract

Engineering is a widespread subject, and with such a significant number of kinds of engineering departments to choose from, it tends to be hard to choose which one is a reasonable for understudy. Many students might wonder which engineering department is a suitable to be selected. The purpose of this choice is that the student will be able to achieve success in the years of study at the faculty of engineering. Not only this, but it also helps the student to join
a reasonable job and to make progress in his career.
Currently, many factors affect the student’s decision for choosing his department including family, passion, salary, past experiences, teachers and
recent employers. All these effects affect the student’s choice of engineering department without knowing the student’s desire to choose and learn the appropriate engineering department. These effects are appropriate for them and not for the student.
In this thesis, we proposed an engineering department recommendation process by using Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP). A fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) has been proposed to help and guide students to recommend the best suitable engineering department for them. The proposed recommendation process will be applied by two factors. The first factor is the dependencies of courses with respect to the departments and the second factor is the dependencies of the courses with respect to students.
