Abstract Invasive fungal diseases (IFDs) are usually observed in patients who are immunocompromised and have hematological malignancies, have undergone transplant procedures, and/or have solid tumors. Such infections are usually associated with high mortality. For instance, in North America between 2004 and 2008, the mortality rates for ICI varied from 37.5% to 75.0% The prevalence of candidemia in this study was 21.3% from the whole studied population. These finding were in agreement with Omrani et al. (2014) who reported that , the prevalence of candida infections in North African countries was (31.22%) and with Osman et al.(2018 ) who reported that, eight cases were positive for candida by blood culture out of 80 patient (10%) admitted to Pediatric Intensive Care Unit(PICU) This study aimed to: Evaluate lysis centrifugation Blood culture versus serum mannan Ag detection methods for diagnosis of candidemia among haematologically diseased patients. |
