Abstract

Nitrogen containing heterocycles are still an important resource for wide applications in both medical and industrial fields. They are used to develop new azodyes based on quinoline moiety for printing and biological applications. In addition, electro-chemical behavior was studied to check the possibility for dyes removal under the electro-chemical condition.
The thesis included three chapters,
The first chapter highlighted the literature survey on synthesis, reactions and applications of quinoline and quinoline containing dyes. In addition to harmful effects of these on environment and the methods for treatment by electro-chemical treatment.
The second chapter described the experimental methods used for synthesizing azo disperse dyes in good yields for dying, antibacterial and electro applications. In addition, azo compounds characterization by mentioned FT-IR, 1H, 13C- NMR and mass spectroscopic analysis. Moreover, the application of these dyes on polyester fabrics and fastness properties and in vitro anti-bacterial activity were mentioned. Furthermore, it presents instruments and methods for studying the electro-chemical application using poly 1,5-DAN/GC modified electrode, CPE measurements and UV-vis spectrometry analysis were also described.
