Abstract Glaucoma is a category of ocular diseases with multifactorial etiologies. Glaucoma is identified by a potentially progressive characteristic optic neuropathy, which includes structural or morphological alterations in the head of the optic nerves (ONH), associated with excavation of ONH and lamina cribrosa (LC) deformation and development of characteristic patterns of functional worsening of the visual field (VF) due to neurodegeneration of the retinal ganglion cell (RGCs) axons. |
