Abstract In Egypt many industries maintenance strategy is not taken properly into consideration. Consequently, total maintenance cost keeps rising. The electric power plants face major challenges to find the appropriate intervals of scheduled outages of generation units over a given period of time. Preventive Maintenance (PM) scheduling for steam turbine is an important task in power system and plays important role in the operation and planning activities of the electric power utility. PM model has been developed using Genetic Algorithm (GAs) techniques to obtain optimal PM scheduling for steam turbine, reduction both of down times, and total maintenance cost. . |
