Abstract
The main objective of the present study is to provide an in-depth pragmatic analysis of Speech Act Theory in selected utterances in Arthur Miller‗s All My Sons(1947).The analysis of the carefully categorized speech acts, against the backDROP of Searle‗s (1969)typology of speech acts, offers an effective and useful tool for understanding the play.
