Sport and nutrition are a golden combination getting the right balance results in more strength, greater endurance, better recovery and improved sporting performance. nutrition plays such an important and sometimes crucial role in an athlete’s performance. Indeed, nutrition influence nearly every process in the body involved in energy production and recovery from exercise. To undery and apply the principles of sport nutrition, some basic understanding of nutrition, exercise physiology and sport science are necessary. The nutritional approach for training and competition is one of the most important concerns of sport nutrition science. Exercise produces several molecular, biochemical and physiological responses and the aim of well-designed diet is to guarantee a correct intake of energy, carbohydrates, protein, fat, vitamins, mineral and water in order to support basic nutrition requirements as well as pre-, during and post- exercise specific nutrition phases.
Objectives:
This study aimed to evaluation the nutritional state for the students (girls/boys) of Faculty of Physical Education, Menoufia University concerning both third and fourth division, specializing in (football) and to check the imagination of the sports student and the extent to which these students are aware of the nutritional needs taken from the nutrients.
Demographic Information:
Demographic data included (age - residence - spent daily), anthropometric measurement as (Weight, height and BMI) and Health statue include (Health statue - Complain diseases - The amount of sweat) were studied.
The results revealed that:
Social statue: with regard to the residence, the higher percentages of the study sample from Rural (61.3%) or 49 students while the lowest percentage were from urban (38.8%), or 31 students. where the majority were from countryside.
For education was It found that the level of education was high for parents, as university education reached 80% for fathers, while university education for mothers reached 66.3%.
Eating habits statue:
With regard to the result of eating habits for the eat the three meals permanently was the biggest result which is 63.6% do not eat the three meals permanently, which was followed by a 36.6% eat the three meals permanently
As for the meals deleted on the day, the majority of the sample did not have a deleted meal, 62.5%, while the largest percentage of the omitted meal was 20.0% of the breakfast.
One the question about the eating fast food, was the largest percentage which was 87.5% of the sample did not eat fast food, while 12.5% of the sample ate fast food
Determine the food culture
Nutrition has an important role in influencing the fitness all result was a 100% for the answer is yes.
Components of food prefer meat was the largest percentage which is 100%
For the sugars and starches was the largest percentage which is 88.8% for the answer is yes.
Fruits and vegetables were the largest percentage which is 70% for the answer. A particular diet all result was a 100% answer is yes.
As for the question you distinguish food, especially in the family was the largest percentage which is 90 % had no distinction
Health statue:
Regarding the format was a result of health of the question about complain of diseases was the largest percentage which is 96.3% for the answer by not followed by 3.8% percent for the answer is yes.
As to the question of who had the surgeries was a result 95% does not perform surgeries.
For questions about smoking, the largest percentage of the answer was no 83.8%, while 16.3% of the answer was yes.
As for the question about the amount of sweat that secrete:
Large: was 31.3% for the answer is yes.
Little: was 15.0% for the answer is yes.
Normal: was the largest percentage which is 53.8% for the answer is yes.
As for the question about fatigue when doing effort was the largest percentage which is 71.3% for the answer is yes, followed by 28.7% for the answer is no.
from the above it could be recommended that :
• The group reaserch need to correct their food habits by using the nutrition education program, and this will improve their health and performance.
• A general healthy eating pattern helps to support the needs of fit, energetic and lean player. Nutrition plans should be based around lean proteins for muscle repair and recovery, carbohydrates appropriately timed for fuel. In addition, fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds and wholegrains provide important vitamins and minerals, along with some healthy fats such as nuts, olive and oily fish such as salmon.
• water should be taken before, during and after physical exercise, being taken almost continuously. The point is that the body should be fully hydrated for the physical exertions
