Abstract This study compared between three reciprocating files, which are (Reciproc Blue, Reciproc, and WaveOne) in their ability to prepare curved root canals, whether in the case of using the glide path or not. Ninety-six first molars were used in this study after decoronation and the distal root were sectioned and removed. They were divided according to the type of reciprocating files used into three groups, then each group was divided into two subgroups according to the use of the glide path or not. Samples were placed in two acrylic blocks and samples were scanned before and after preparation using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). The shaping ability of the root canals was assessed by measuring the canal transportation, centering ability, and volume of removed dentin at three different levels (apical, middle, and coronal) by superimposition the samples before and after preparation and with special >measuring tools using CBCT Data was statistically analyzed using one way ANOVA and Independent T-test. (P ≤ 0.05). Summary 102 The results showed that there are no statistical differences between the three reciprocating files in their shaping ability to curved root canals, whether or not the glide path is used. The results also showed that the use of the glide path with reciprocating files improved the shaping ability of the root canals, but without statistical differences between using it or not . |
