Abstract
The present study aimed to study the influence of premarital counseling regarding consanguineous marriage on knowledge and attitude among university students A quasi experimental design was used. The study was conducted at (Faculty of Nursing Ain Shams University) 178 students were included in the study through using a purposive sample technique. Three tools of data collection were used named Arabic structured -interviewed questionnaire sheet, Likert attitude scale and satisfaction sheet. The study revealed that a significant improvement was observed among the study group knowledge and attitude pre intervention compared post intervention, three fourth of studied sample had total correct knowledge and positive attitude post intervention. in addition a positive correlation between studied sample’s knowledge and attitude post counseling. The study concluded that premarital counseling regarding consanguineous marriage had a positive influence on knowledge and attitude among university students. Based on this finding, the researchers recommended; integrate premarital counseling concepts regarding consanguineous marriage at undergraduate university education curriculum.
