Abstract

Endometriosis is a condition that causes severe pelvic pain and infertility. It is defined by the presence of endometrial glands and stroma outside the uterine cavity, altered peritoneal function, and increased macrophages, IL-1, IL-6, TNF-α, prostaglandins, IgA, and IgG antibodies, lymphocytes, and an ovum capture inhibitor that prevents cumulus CCR5, angiogenic activity, and IGFBP protease.
The combination of laparoscopy and the histological verification of endometrial glands and/or stroma are considered to be the gold standard for the diagnosis of the disease. Many studies have assessed the diagnostic utility of biomarkers for endometriosis as an alternative to invasive methods for diagnosing endometriosis, but there are currently no effective recommended biomarkers in blood or urine for clinical use as a diagnostic test for endometriosis. Drugs, surgical procedures, and assisted reproductive technology, ICSI are among the treatments for endometriosis infertility. Endometriosis has an uncertain effect on the success rate of neither IVF nor ICSI. The present study aimed to determine the role of serum level of CCR1 and anti-CD176 antibody in diagnosis of endometriosis. In addition, an evaluation of their potential effect as predictive markers for ICSI success was be done. The study enrolled eighty females aged between 20-38 years; 40 endometriosis patients and 40 healthy controls, under going to do ICSI, were subjected to measurement of hormonal profile analysis, Follicular IL-6 and IL-10, serum CCR1 and anti CD 176, and Peripheral NK cell count.
Results revealed significant increase in CCR1, anti-CD176 Abs, Follicular IL-6 and Peripheral NK cell count among endometriosis patient in comparison to healthy controls. Pregnancy rate was significant reduced among endometriosis patients than healthy group. In pregnant females, there was marked reduction in IL-6 levels while IL-10 was increased.
