Abstract This study was carried out during the season of 2016 at the Central Laboratory of Aquaculture Research Abbassa, AbuHammad district, Sharkia Governorate, Egypt, to evaluate the conventional methods and the new design for hatching fish eggs, using different carp eggs density (1000, 2000 and 3000 eggs/l), water flow rate (110, 230 and 350 cm3/min), and evaluate hatching ratio, water quality (dissolved oxygen ,pH and temperature), time of incubation and the economics of operations. The obtained results revealed that the economics of production for 1000 fry were 9.5, 11, and 21 L.E with 110 ml/min water flow rate for conventional method, Poultry Drinker and the new method respectively. The hatching ratio 76, 76, and 77% with conventional method, poultry drinker, and the new design respectively. The production of fry 2.7, 3.3 and 9.8 fry/l with 350 ml/l water flow rate for Poultry Drinker, Conventional Method, and The New Design respectively. |
