Abstract

The world of technology and communications has witnessed amazing progress in the past few decades in different applications. The most important and most prominent feature of this progress is the dependence of these technologies on the Internet Protocol (IP). IP technology becomes the backbone of all forms of communication between humans and even between intelligent machines.
One of the most important applications based on IP is the Video and Voice over Internet Protocol (VVoIP). The dependence on VVoIP applications has increased significantly in the recent years, whether in social or business applications. The social distancing measures that have recently been implemented to limit the spread of the Corona pandemic have played a major role in the spread of video call applications over IP. Companies and educational institutions have increased their reliance on these applications as an alternative to direct meetings. There are many advantages of VVoIP applications, but the low video quality especially in large networks and high traffic is one of the most important obstacles in the way of spreading these applications.
In this thesis, we are concerned to estimate the parameters affecting the quality of VVoIP under a large live network based on IP multimedia subsystem in order to optimize these parameters. In addition, we have investigated in the techniques used to improve VVoIP quality. Finally, a new technique to improve VVoIP quality under IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) has been proposed.
