Abstract

In the current study we aimed to study the expression level of CD1d on monocytes and lymphocytes plus the frequency of CD3+/CD56+ in peripheral blood of Egyptian patients with AML. This study carried out on patients with acute myeloid leukemia divided into: Subject group 1: 10 newly diagnosed AML patients. group 2: 10 complete remission AML group 3: 10 relapsed AML. Group4: 10 healthy as a control. Method By flowcytometry Result - In the current study there was significant increase of age in relapsed patients group in compared to other groups p-value 0.041, there was insignificant differences between studied groups as regard gender p-value 0.641. - In the current study we found that Hepato-splenomegaly, Pallor and purpura was higher in patients groups in comparison to control healthy group but differences between all groups still insignificant p-value 0.094, 0.061, 0.061 respectively. In the current study there was significant differences between CBC, ESR and SLD in between studied groups with worse results in patients groups and better normal levels in healthy control pvalue 0.001. - In the current study there was insignificant differences between three studied patient groups as regard FAB classification p-value 0.626. - In the current study we found that there was significant differences in levels of CD1d on the Monocytes in the peripheral blood of the studied patient groups its level was higher in control than patients groups p-value 0.001. In the current study there was significant differences in levels of CD1d on the Lymphocytes in the Peripheral Blood of the studied patient groups its level was higher in patients with CR than other groups p-value 0.001. - In the current study there was significant differences in levels of CD3+CD56+ T Lymphocytes in the peripheral blood of the studied patient groups its level was higher in patients groups pvalue 0.001. - In the current study there was a negative strong correlation was detected between CD1d levels on monocytes and the number of CD3+CD56+ T lymphocytes in the peripheral blood of patients with Acute Myeloid Leukemia ( p<0.001,r = -0.772).
