Abstract

The adrenal gland is a site of several pathologic conditions, including hyperplasia, hemorrhage, malignant and benign masses. Adrenal lesions are frequently detected accidentally in radiologic examinations.Multiple imaging modalities have been used to characterize adrenal lesions and the primary purpose is non-invasive differentiation of benign
from malignant lesions.Diffusion weighted (DW) MRI is a non-invasive and fast imaging technique that is based on molecular diffusion movement of water molecules in biological tissues. In an attempt to characterize adrenal lesions, recent focus has been on diffusion weighted imaging (DWI).he aim of our current study was to assess the role of DWI in differentiation of adrenal masses. To elucidate this aim 20 patients presented with adrenal mass were enrolled in the study.
