المستخلص

The goal of the current research was determined in developing some Literary Appreciation for the first grad of secondary school, To achieve this goal, the researcher used the descriptive and experimental approaches, and designed a number of educational tools and materials, as follow:
- A questionnaire on the appropriate Literary Appreciation for the first grad of secondary school students, and which fit the close reading strategy.
- Literary Appreciation test for the first grade of secondary school.
- A teacher’s guide to developing literary appreciation for students using the close reading strategy.
The necessary statistical processes to control these tools were conducted - honestly and reliably - before using them, and the research was applied to a sample of (60) male/female students, in the academic year 2021-2022 AD, and they were divided into two groups: the first experimental group consisted of (30) male/female students, and the second A control group consisting of (30) students, and the application took six weeks. To analyze the data, the researcher used the following statistical methods through the SPSS.V21 statistical program, which are:
- Averages and standard deviations.
-Pearson’s correlation coefficient.
-Independent Samples –t- Test
-Paired Samples –t- Test
- Eta square to measure the size of the effect.
-Corrected gain equation.
-The research results showed the effectiveness of close reading strategy in developing 10 out of 30 Literary Appreciation allocated by literary writers and educators for the first grad of secondary school, In light of the results, the researcher made a number of recommendations, and suggested some researches related to its topic.
