Abstract The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of laparoscopic ovarian drilling (LOD) on serum chemerin levels,serum insulin level, and lipid profile inobese and non-obese cases with PCOS, and to correlate chemerin levels with serum insulin levels and with lipid profile. Materials and methods : This study included 100 cases (60 PCOS and 40 control cases) selected from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, in Mansoura University Hospitals, in accordance with the inclusion/ exclusion criteria. Results: This study found that serum chemerin levels was significantly higher in patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome than in the control group,serum chemerin levels decresed in pcos patient after 3 monthes after laparoscopic ovarian drilling. Conclusions: Laprosopic ovarian drilling was able to reduce, insulin and lipid profile and was resulted in the significant decrease in chemerin levels in PCOS patient.
