Abstract Background: Developing and validating administrative system is necessaryfor high quality care and best patients outcomeAim: The current study aimed to develop and validate a nursing administrative system at a university hospital.Design: To achieve this aim a Descriptive methodological design was utilized. Setting:The study was conducted at Internal Medicine of El Kaser Al Aini hospital.Sample:The study sample consisted of all nursing staff with total number 93 which included (one Chief of nursing, 3 Assistant chief of nursing, 15 head nurses, and 74 staff nurse). All available records and documents related to the administrative system were audited. Tools:Three data collection tools,1stthe nursing administrative system questionnaire, 2ndauditing checklist, and 3rdadministrative system validity oppinionaire sheet. Findings: The findings of the study indicated the majority of participants reported absence of many nursing administrative system componentsas reported by nursing staff and confirmed through auditing all the available documents in the hospital. Based on these findings, a proposed administrative system was developed and validated by number of experts |
