Abstract Nursing faculties have pursued games as a teaching strategy to motivate and engage students.Therefore, the current study aimed to assess nursing students’ experiences regarding game based learning as a teaching strategy applied in Mantoux skin test procedure. Through a cross sectional study design and experts’ opinions (Delphi) on a convenient sample composed of 200 undergraduate nursing students enrolled in the course of community health nursing second semester, academic year 2021-2022 and purposive sample of 25 expert panel. Findings related to Mantoux tuberculin skin test procedure : 93% of nursing students had poor total knowledge score with a mean 10.0500 (3.45357) and 71.5% of nursing students had proficient total practice score with a mean 43.5650(3.54522). The researcher concluded that more than two thirds of nursing students have played computer games, while, more than one third and almost three quarters of nursing students have described their experience with Game Based Learning as enhance learning successfully and learning motivation is positive, as well nursing students have positive attitude tendency towards Game Based Learning, in addition to either all or most of nursing students strongly agree on evaluation’s elements of the designed Mantoux skin test game. Accordingly the researcher recommended adopting, as well availability of the designed Mantoux skin test game on Google drive link for nursing students in their faculties and institutions, across the national scale. |
