Abstract

Zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF-67) encapsulated with polyoxometalate was synthesized via a facile one pot co-precipitation reaction. The effect of encapsulating the polyoxometalate within the framework on the capacitive performance of ZIF-67 was investigated. Besides, an ASC device was assembled and displayed a good electrochemical performance with an excellent cyclic stability. In the second part of the thesis, bimetallic Co-W-S chalcogenide confined in N and S co-doped carbon matrix was successfully derived through the carbonization of ZIF-67 encapsulated with polyoxometalate in presence of sulfur powder. The derived composite exhibited an enhanced electrochemical performance. Furthermore, an asymmetric supercapacitor device was assembled and displayed a superior power and energy density
