Abstract New imaging methods have been developed for interpreting the observed gravity, magnetic and self-potential data along profile. These methods are based on the calculation of the correlation factor (the R-parameter) between the analytic signal of the measured anomaly and the analytic signal of the calculated response of an assumed models in the category of sheets, cylinders, and spheres. The characteristic parameters such as the amplitude coefficient, depth, location, approximative shape, and effective angle of magnetization of the interpretive model correspond to the maximum R-parameter value. In addition to we have developed an algorithm to assess the model parameters for the shallow and deep co-axial structures from self-potential data by utilizing the standard inversion method for solving a non-linear equation from the first horizontal gradient of a self-potential anomaly based on minimizing the RMS error. The methods have been verified on noise-free and noisy synthetic examples and successfully applied to real-field data examples from Germany, Sweden, Canada, Cuba, USA, India, Senegal, and Egypt for mineral exploration, and the obtained results are in good concordance with those obtained from drilling and the published literature |
