المستخلص

The purpose of the stud is to identify the role of school councils in achieving educational goals in the schools of the second cycle of basic education in the light of participatory management .
The researcher relied on the descriptive approach, and made aquestionnaire as a performance for the field study, which was applied to the study sample.
The study revealed many results as follows:
• It was found that the degree of using participatory management in the management of the schools of the second cycle of basic education from the point of view of school council members was generally average,
• It was found that there is centralization in the educational policies followed by the schools of the second cycle of basic education, and the weakness of the use of participatory management.
• It was found that the reality of the school councils achieving their goals and specializations in the schools of the second cycle of basic education from the point of view of the school councils members was generally average.
• It was found that the reality of the school councils achieving the educational goals in the schools of the second cycle of basic education, from the point of view of the school councils members, was average as a whole.
• It was found that the obstacles to the use of participatory management in activating the role of school councils to achieve educational goals in the schools of the second cycle of basic education in Sohag governorate were great in general.
