Abstract

Scaphoid fracture is the most commonly carpal bone fractures , almostly results from falling on an outstretched hand with the wrist in extension position occuring in active men patients, in their twenties or thirties resultingin a significant burden to society from lost productivity This study aimed at evaluating the efficacy of mini open dorsal approach for fixation of recent scaphoid fractures by cannulated Herbert’s screw fixation in producing satisfactory outcome. 30 patients with time from injury to surgery range from 1 day to 30 days fractures were fixed by mini open dorsal approach by Herbert screw, these patients were admitted to the orthopedic department Tanta University Hospital during the period from March 2021 to November 2021, followed up for a minimum of 6 months.
