Abstract ABSTRACT This study was carried out on the 5 White khalili, Red khalili, Succari, Navel orange and Mazizy sweet orange cvs. It was aimed to investigate the possibility of establishing genetic fingerprints by which these cultivars could be genetically distinguished and identified using 3 IRAP, SRAP and ISSR genetic marker techniques. Data obtained displayed that three techniques varied greatly in their suitability and amplification potential. Since, SRAP was the superior (strongest), followed by the IRAP (intermediate to high), while the ISSR was the inferior. Such trend was true as the yielded informative products that representative of the number of amplified DNAs fragments for either total reproducible, polymorphic or the positive unique bands (specific markers) were concerned .Whereas, the number of 1- total amplified 2- polymorphic and 3- positive unique fragments generated by the SRAP, IRAP or ISSR across the five sweet orange cvs.were 1- (120.59 or 44), 2- (98, 37 or 22),3- (84,29 or 8), respectively . So, discrimination between such cvs and identifying them becomes definite by IRAP and SRAP, but just possible with ISSR techniques. On the other hand ,three techniques revealed the same trend regarding the similarity and pedi |
