Abstract
The object of this work is to study some physical properties of the standard masses, which have a significant effect on the mass metrology. These properties are the measurement of the magnetic polarization and magnetic susceptibility of standard masses by susceptometer instrument.This work also aims to the preparation of some masses from stainless steel and study the magnetic properties of them.The studying of some factors such as: 1) The effect of magnetic field strength on the magnetic properties of the standard masses. 2) Studying the variation of magnetic properties of the standard masses with time. 3) Studying the effect of heat treatment on the magnetic properties of the standard masses. 4) The effect of magnetic properties of the masses on the uncertainty calculations has also been discussed
