Abstract

In this study a ready made completely edentoulus epoxy resin model was brought, upon the model a complete acrylic resin denture was constructed in a conventional way. The denture was duplicated into identical denture in a duplicating flask, the two implants were installed into the model in the canine region on both sides of the dental cast. Then the study cases were divided into two group {u2022}group I: where the two implants were attached together with a bar. {u2022} group II: where the two implants were connected to a ball /socket attachment. Dentures were placed on the test of the universal testing machine, the compressive load was gradually applied until the fracture done. The fracture resistance test results revealed that the highest mean values of the fracture loads were found in the over denture with ball/socket group but there was no statistical significant difference between the two group. In the over denture that retained over the ball/socket attachment the fracture line has extensively in the anterior region (mid line fracture). while in the over denture that retained over bar-clip group the fracture line was bilaterally in the premolar area
