Abstract

Objectives To compare accuracy between office hysteroscopy and saline infused sonography in the evaluation of endometrial cavity abnormalities in infertile women prior to ICSI procedure. Study Design Experimental or Interventional study. Patients and Methods The study population consists of 100 patients in reproductive age that require ICSI due to unexplained infertility or previous ICSI failure.The patients were recruited from infertility clinic of the obstetrics and gynecology department,at Kasr al-aini hospital, Cairo University .All the selected patients first did saline infused sonography(SIS) by first operator and then subsequently did hysteroscopy (OH) by second operator and results were blinded from both till the end of the study. SIS & OH were done in the cycle preceding ICSI during the proliferative phase of the menstrual cycle, i.e. between the 6th and the 11th day for a 28 day cycle.Evaluation of the endometrial cavity done and found abnormalities like polyps, submucous myomas, intrauterine adhesions etc
