Abstract

The current study was conducted to monitoring the changes of the physicochemical properties and heavy metals accumulation in soils and Citrus Trees at Abu-Rawash in Egypt and Tunisia, which have been subjected to long-term sewage water irrigation in comparison to soils irrigated with the Nile fresh water. In addition, to optimize the safe use of treated sewage water in increasing the area of the irrigated land. Soil profiles were taken to represent soils irrigated with sewage water for different periods (35 and 55 years) besides one profile irrigated with canal water irrigated for (60 years) at Abu-Rawash farm. Water samples were collected from sewage drain and from canal water. Samples from some citrus trees as (mandarin) grown in some soils were analyzed for their content of heavy metals accumulation
