Abstract
Introduction: Patients with Late onset LCPD needs more than conservative measures to avoid early osteoarthritis of the hip. Patientsandmethods:AnRCTwereconductedon50patients (45 males,5 females). 25 patients in the retrospective group A with mean chronological age of 9.32 years ±1.41:managed by Shelf acetabuloplasty, soft tissue release and femoral head drilling, and 25 patients in the prospective group Bwith mean chronological age of 9.64 years ±1.47: managed by Shelf acetabuloplasty and soft tissue release only
