Abstract

Different analytical techniques, namely chromatography, Capillary electrophoresis, spectrophotometry and chemometry were adopted for determination of some hormones; namely, Estradiol valerate (EST), Norethisterone acetate (NOR) in presence of other related compounds (estradiol, estrone and estriol) and Epinephrine (EPI) in presence of norepinephrine and their enantiomeric impurities. The aim of this work was to develop different analytical methods which are characterized by simplicity, accuracy and appropriate degree of sensitivity for the analysis of the aforementioned drugs in their powdered form, laboratory prepared mixtures and in their pharmaceutical dosage forms. One of the latest used greenness evaluation tools for analytical techniques is the analytical eco-scale, which is a semi-quantitative tool to evaluate and compare analytical methods based on their conformity with green chemistry principles. All of the presented methods have been validated according to the ICH- guidelines. The proposed methods can be used for quality control analysis of the studied drugs either in bulk powder or pharmaceutical formulation. This thesis contains three parts in addition to references, arabic and English summaries; Part I; General introduction of hormones. Part II; Simultaneous determination of Estradiol valerate and norethisterone acetate along with estradiol, estrone and estriol Part III; Determination of L-Epinephrine in presence of L-Norepinephrine and their Enantiomeric Impurities
