Abstract Background: Keratosis pilaris (KP) is a common disorder of keratinization. There are different treatment modalities for KP with variable results.Neodymium yttrium laser doped garnet (Nd:YAG) laser and chemical peels are among these treatment modalities, however, there is no enough evidence in the literature regarding their efficacy. Objective:The aim of this study is to assess and compare the efficacy of long pulsed Nd:YAG laser and trichloreacetic acid 20% in treatment of keratosis pilaris.Patients and methods: Twenty female patients were enrolled in this study. For each patient two areas were treated either by long pulsed Nd:YAG laser or TCA 20%. All patients were assessed by digital photography at baseline, after the second session and two weeks after the last session.Assessment was done by the two blinded investigators who assessed the clinical and dermoscopic improvement. Patients reported the degree of satisfaction two weeks after the last session as well as any adverse effects after each session |
