Abstract Paul- Majumder (2003) conducted a study on the physical and mental health status of textile workers and how such problems affect labor productivity together with the competitiveness of the textile industry in the world market and the working life of the workers particularly the female workers. It showed also that various illnesses and diseases were widespread among the textile workers. Occupational health hazard is concerned with health hazard in relation to work environment. The science of occupational health hazards covers a wide field, like work physiology, occupational hygiene, occupational psychology, occupational toxicology etc. (Harrington and Gill, 1990). The role of the nurse is very important in any occupation. Davis (1985) mentioned that the main roles of occupational nurse are to provide a competent nursing care, treatment, follow up, referral and first-aid services, maintain and update as necessary accurate recording and reporting of facts including evaluation of the total health care for the workers. Moreover, the nurse is responsible for teaching and motivating workers about good health and safety practices. The physician and the nurse working in the occupational health department can be grouped to protect and help workers to be treated and also help them adapt to their jobs. The aim of the present study was to assess the occupational health hazards among the workers in textile factory at Ismailia city. A descriptive design carried out for assessing the occupational health hazards among the workers in the textile factory at Ismailia city. The sample consisted of (864) workers (males and females) who were chosen by simple random technique from the different departments of production line. Summary 82 The researcher collected data by using two tools: Tool I: A structured interview questionnaire: 4. Sociodemographic data (e.g. age, sex, level of education and years of experience). 5. Medical history, surgical history, previous exposure to accidents and /or injuries and present complaint and / or health problem. 6. Previous receiving training programs about occupational health hazards, First aid and/or safety measures. Tool II: An Observational Checklist (Appendix I): 1. It includes different items related to: mechanical, chemical, fire hazards, noise and vibration, manual handling of loads, methods of prevention of musculoskeletal disorders and psychosocial issues. Data were collected within 4 months period started from January 1 st . 2015 to the end of April 2015. Data were collected 5 days/ week and were randomly chosen from 12 pm to 12.5 pm. After data collection, it was revised, tabulated, and analyzed using suitable statistical tests. The results findings were revealed in the following points: The mean age of the studied workers sample was aged between 25-34, 8.9 years (51.3%).
