Abstract

A healthy liver is essential to the health of human beings as it has an inevitable role in almost all biochemical processes. The liver can be exposed to many diseases, and it’s often affected with eating habits, alcohol, and overdose of some drugs. Hepatotoxicity has become one of the most common liver disorders which is estimated to be about 15% of the world disease burden. Hepatoprotective drugs are sometimes extracted from medicinal herbs. Many medicinal plants have hepatoprotective activity. A hepatoprotective drug is the drug that has a beneficial effect on liver (Maqbool, Rasool, Dar, Bashir, & Khan, 2019). The hepatoprotective drugs studied during this thesis are vitamin C (VIT C), N-acetylcysteine (NAC) and silymarin (milk thistle) (SIL), alpha tocopherol acetate (VIT E) and beta-carotene (B-CAR).
