Abstract This prospective study included 50 patients. There were 43 cases with lesions and 7 cases normal cases as control, the patients with post-operative changes 10 patients (2 males and 8 females), regarding patients with lesions They were 33 patients; 18 males (54.5%) and 15 females (45.5 %). Their age ranged from 12-85 years with average age of 48.5 years. The aim of this study is to assess the reliability of DTI in evaluation of Salivary gland tumors. On static MRI, margin definition had high sensitivity, specificity, positive, negative predictive values and accuracy (100%, 95%, 92.9 %,100% and 96.9% respectively). As regard T1SI; sensitivity, specificity, positive, negative predictive values and accuracy were (76.9%,30%, 41.7%, 66.7%, and 51.5% respectively).T2SI shows sensitivity, specificity, positive, negative predictive values and accuracy were (76.9%,30%, 41.7%, 66.7%, and 51.5% respectively) which is typically similar to the diagnostic performance of T1SI.As regard ADC by AUC 0.810 ROC curve analysis revealed that by using cut-off value of (1.25×10−3mm2/s) to differentiate benign from malignant lesions had sensitivity, specificity, +ve predictive, -ve predictive and Accuracy of 92.3%, 55.0%, 57.1 %, 91.7%, 69.7% respectively. After exclusion Warthin’s tumors from benign lesion as they have restricted diffusion unlike other most benign lesions ROC curve analysis revealed that AUC (0.908) by using cut-off value of (1.25×10−3mm2/s) to differentiate benign from malignant lesions had sensitivity, specificity, +ve predictive, -ve predictive and Accuracy of 92.3 %, 73.3 %, 75 %, 91.7 %, 82.1 % respectively. |
