Abstract
This paper includes four parts, the first of which deal with isocyanide-based multicomponent reactions (IMCR). One-pot combinations of carboxylic acid, ketone, and isocyanide were discovered by Passerini affording α-acyloxy carboxamide. p-nitrophenyl isocyanide was synthesized by formylation of p-nitroaniline giving N-formyl-p-nitroaniline followed by dehydration affording p-nitrophenyl isocyanide.
