Abstract
The first chapter is an introduction which is composed of two parts. The first part is a brief literature survey on the synthesis of thienopyrimidines, pyridothienopyrimidines and pyridothienotriazolopyrimidines. The second part is a survey covering the anticancer drugs including targeted therapy as one of the recent fields of research, particularly pim kinase inhibitors. Additionally, a brief study about pim kinase enzyme, and its biological importance is included.The second chapter demonstrates the aim of the work, along with the schemes that have been carried out to obtain new pyridothienopyrimidines and pyridothienotriazolopyrimidines derivatives as pim-1 inhibitors.The third chapter explains the theoretical discussion of the experimental work used for the preparation of the newly synthesized compounds, together with explanation of their spectroscopic data.The fourth chapter consists of the experimental part of this work which includes the detailed procedures used for the synthesis of the target compounds.The structure elucidation of the new compounds was supported by elemental analyses, IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, mass spectrometry and TLC monitoring
